Lillys Visual Quality for Visual Enterprise Troubleshooting

If you have Visual Quality installed at your site, then you know the wonders of setting up this very picky software. The hardest part for us has been getting it to work with Visual Enterpise. Also known as Visual Manufacturing. We are currently on version 6.3.8 of VM.

Here is a list of some tips on getting VQ to work.

Im using SQL2000, but Im sure this will apply to all the databases that Lilly supports.

Problem: I cannot login to Visual Manufacturing as IQS. I get a error window that asks me if I want to halt or continue.

Solution: Login as SYSADM and use the USERS dialog box to delete and recreate the IQS account. Then run "Fix Synonyms and Grants". Make sure you delete/create users from Visual Manufacturing and not from the database tools that come with SQL, Oracle or SQLbase.

I have had to do this on every test database I created. It does not harm the login of IQS to other VM/VQ databases. Remember, changing the password in one VM database will change it in all the others too.

Problem: The link to Visual Quality does not work from within VM. (Under Eng/Mfg)

Solution: Login as SYSADM and open Application Global Maintenance. Click on the last tab called "Defaults". In the Visual Quality area the path should look something like this: c:visualvqMake sure the database name is correct and do not include vq.exe on the end of the path.

Problem: I cannot access Application Global Maintenance from within VQ.

Solution: Make sure you are logged in as IQS.

Problem: I created a test database and copied the VQ database from my live production database, but now VQ will not startup when I try to load it from my test database.

It says I must be running VM first and I am!

Solution: Inside of the VQ Application Global there is a place to specify the VM database. Your copied VQ database is still pointing to the production database. You need to open your production database in VM, change the Application Global Maintenance to point to the new test VQ database, login now to the VQ database as IQS and change the database name in Application Global to match your test database. When your done you will need to go back to the production VM database Application Global Maintenance and change the VQ database name back to what it was.

Problem: I cannot get the Reports to install in VQ.

Solution: Make sure you use UNC paths to the server and that you have created a share on the server so that everyone can access the reports. The path should look something like this:

"\vmservervisualvqMy Reports"

"\vmservervisualvqQuick Reports"

Click on refresh and then Install. Make sure you have the "" on the end of the path.

How to fix a Windows 8 1 upgrade that ends with a black screen

After your upgrade to Windows 8.1, if you see a black screen and only a mouse pointer, you may have video drivers that are incompatable.  The solution is to remove the video drivers in safe mode and here is how to do that.

Make sure you boot to the Windows 8.1 DVD or Windows 8.1 thumb drive using UEFIand not legacy boot if you have a PC with UEFI.  On a Dell PC, using F12 will let you choose what to boot to.

Once you have booted from the 8.1 install media (Win8 may work too), look for the repair option.

Then choose Repair + Troubleshoot + Advanced Options + Command Prompt

1.    Open Command Prompt.

2.    With Command Prompt open, execute the correct bcdedit command as shown below based on which Safe Mode option youd like to start:

Safe Mode:

3.  bcdedit /set {default} safeboot minimal

Safe Mode with Networking:

bcdedit /set {default} safeboot network

Safe Mode with Command Prompt:

bcdedit /set {default} safeboot minimal

bcdedit /set {default} safebootalternateshell yes

Tips: Be sure to type whatever command you choose exactly as shown and then execute it using the Enter key. Spaces are very important! The { and } brackets are the ones above the [ and ] keys on your keyboard. Two separate commands are required to start Safe Mode with Command Prompt so be sure to execute them both.

A properly executed bcdedit command should return a "The operation completed successfully" message.

If you see "The parameter is incorrect", or "The set command specified is not valid", or "...is not recognized as an internal or external command...", or a similar message, check Step 3 again and make sure you executed the command properly. If you get other errors about not finding the BCD, then you might be booting into Legacy Mode, make sure your using UEFI.

4.    Close the Command Prompt window.

5.    In Windows 8, tap or click on Continue.

6.    Wait while your computer restarts.

7.    Once Windows starts, log in as you normally do and use Safe Mode to open the device manager from the control panel and remove all video drivers and check the option to delete the drivers from the PC.
Important: Windows will continue to start in Safe Mode every time you reboot unless you undo what you did in Step 3.

Now that you have removed the drivers, you can change the BCD back from safemode using a CMD.exe windows that should be elevated to Administrator.

Return the BCD to Standard with this command:
bcdedit /deletevalue safeboot

Now reboot and you should be able to login to your PC again.

Make sure you use the drivers supplied by your PC manufacturer first before you try generic video drivers.

For Dell, those will be at http://www.dell.com/support

Outlook 2013 busy freeze after startup because of OXtender 2 Start in safe mode

After startup, as soon as OXtender 2 started to sync with the server, my Outlook 2013 did not respond any more (Windows 8, 64 bit, Office 32 bit, OXtender 7.0.64).

How-I-fixed-it:
I managed to start Outlook in safe mode by pressing CRTL-Key on startup as described here:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/about-office-safe-mode-HP003082393.aspx

I disabled the OXtender 2 AddIn to check, if this is causing the problem. Without the AddIn, Outlook starts OK.
I did a backup of my data and then recreated the service again using the OXtender Support Tool (C:Program Files (x86)Open-XchangeOXtender 2 for Microsoft OutlookProfile).

After that, Outlook starts fine again and synchronized with the server.

USB History From 1 0 to 3 0

"There are (more than) 10 billion USB products installed today, and send the industry (more than) 3 billion USB products a year and growing,"

So many, USB can be described as a tool that is everywhere with good reason.  USB function is to connect devices to a computer.
There may be other connectors faster but USB is a device that is convenient, reliable, durable, relatively inexpensive, and more than enough for most tasks in data transfer. This is what makes the USB remains popular.
In addition to convenient data transfer, USB also provides power (power) for connecting devices such as speakers and external hard drives.

History of USB
1994: Begins Development
Seven groups of technology companies, namely: Compaq, DEC, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, NEC and Nortel, jointly developing what they hope will become the industry standard for connecting peripheral devices to focus on: the shape, cost, simplicity, manufacturability and usability.

January 1996: USB 1.0 Release
The first USB model is significantly slower than we can enjoy today. There are two original USB speed that: bandwidth version 1.5 Mbps and 12 Mbps.

April 2000: USB 2.0 Release
The second version of the USB is capable of transferring data at up to 480 Mbps, or about 40 times faster than the USB version of the original / first. USB is no longer just for the mouse and keyboard but has expanded to other devices that require greater data transfer, such as a printer or webcam. USB 2.0 is backwards compatible, meaning that any device that uses USB 1.0 technology can be used at USB 2.0.

December 2000: USB Flash Drive
IBM released a flash drive with a storage capacity of 8 MB. Transferring files from one computer to another computer to be faster. Flash drives are also easier to use than disk 3½ "which is still used at the turn of the 20th century.

May 2005: Wireless USB
By Use the radio transmission, wireless USB technology release / wireless. Now you can enjoy your computer with the USB peripherals wireless tech.

November 2008: USB 3.0 release
The data transfer rate of USB 3.0 is 5 Gbps or 5.000 Mbps. About 10 times faster than USB 2.0. Data transfer capabilities comparable with FireWire 800.

And know we can enjoy the high speed of data transfer.

How to connect a TP Link TL WA850RE 300Mbps Universal WiFi Range Extender WLAN Repeater to a Vodafone EasyBox 803 using WPS

A friend asked me to help him to setup his TP-Link WiFi Repeater with his Vodafone EasyBox 803.

How-I-fixed-it:

Setting up the connection using WPS is pretty straightforward:
1. Plug in the repeater to a socket next to the EasyBox and wait until the Wireless and the RE LED are flashing (the RE will turn off after a while)
2. Press the WPS button on the upper left of your EasyBox (the one with the antenna symbol) for min. 2 seconds until the WiFi light on the frontside of the router starts flashing slowly
3. Press the RangeExtender/WPS button on the frontside of the repeater to start WPS setup. RE is now flashing.
4. After some time (can be up to 1-2 minutes), the RE LED should stay on.
5. The repeater is now connected to WiFi.

No Connection / Manual setup:
Plug the repeater into a socket and connect it to your computer using a LAN cable. In your browser address bar type http://tplinkextender.net. to Login use "admin" for username and password. On the status page it tells you, whether its connected to WiFi or not.
For manual setup, please refer to:

Use System Drawing dll from SQLCLR C code on SQL Server

I created a SQLCLR-Assembly that uses the System.Drawing Namespace. I was not able to deploy it from Visual Studio to the SQL Server because of the error message:

SQL72014: .Net SqlClient Data Provider: Meldung 6503, Ebene 16, Status 12, Zeile 1 Die system.drawing, version=2.0.0.0, culture=neutral, publickeytoken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a.-Assembly wurde im SQL-Katalog nicht gefunden.

How-i-fixed-it:

In SQL-Server Management Studio open up a new query:

ALTER DATABASE your_db_name
SET TRUSTWORTHY ON
GO
CREATE ASSEMBLY [System.Drawing]
FROM C:WINDOWSMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv2.0.50727System.Drawing.dll
WITH PERMISSION_SET = UNSAFE
GO

Maybe you receive the following error:

Msg 33009, Level 16, State 2, Line 2
The database owner SID recorded in the master database differs from the database owner SID recorded in database XYZ. You should correct this situation by resetting the owner of database XYZ using the ALTER AUTHORIZATION Statement.

iPad Conference Room Meeting Scheduler Wall Board

I wanted to use an iPad outside of my conference rooms to show if the room was Vacant or Occupied along with the day’s schedule and also the ability to book a quick meeting right from the iPad.
I had to change my Meeting Rooms from Room Resources to Users before I could attach them to the iPads. Here are my reviews and what I had to do in order to make all this work.
Meeting Room Visual Jazz Isobar Pty ltd
Evaluation of the Applications
I evaluated the following iPad apps.
Meeting Room by Visual Jazz Isobar Pty Ltd
Book a Room by Effektfabriken
Event Board Pro by Ender Labs
Pronestor Display from Pronestor
Here are my evaluations of these applications in order of ranking:

meetingroomMeeting Room
This is the application we choose. It has a nice interface and with a onetime purchase price of $8.99, you can beat the price.
It links to whatever is showing on the ipad’s calendar. Clicking on the clock shows you 3 days of upcoming meetings. When the room is open you can book 15,30, and 60 minute blocks.
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/meeting-room/id558711525

bookaroomBook a Room
This application did not seem to have any way to see the entire schedule for the day. The interface didn’t rotate and the price was $250 per iPad. Booking a quick meeting was very easy.
It links to whatever is showing on the ipad’s calendar

eventboardEvent Board Pro
The cloud management for Event Board really didn’t make setup any easier and I do not feel that it’s worth the cost. Event Board did have the best looking GUI of the group.
It links to whatever is showing on the ipad’s calendar and if there is more than one calendar, the cloud dash board will let you choose which one to display. This application for 4 rooms would be around $499/yr.

pronestorproNestor Display
proNestor had the best method of connecting the room. You login as a dedicated Delegate User who has rights to the room you need access to and then you tell the software which Room you would like to display. I would have made this choice just for this feature if the price were not so high. This is also a cloud offering just like Event Board Pro and they charge around $250/year per iPad. I felt that the GUI was very plain and could use more style.

Setting up the Scheduler
Now that I had my Meeting app of choice, I needed to figure out how to get the room to show up on the board. For the most part these apps depend on you getting the iPad calendar linked to a Room and in my case that was Office 365, and I’m sure this would also apply to Exchange 2010 or Exchange 2013.
Here is the number one problem you will run into. Rooms are not allowed to connect using ActiveSync. Office 365 blocks ActiveSync from working with Room Resources and I’m sure Exchange does too. You can verify this by using the ActiveSync tester at https://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/
When you change the mailbox from Room to Standard, the test passes. Then when you put it back to a Room it fails. This happens almost instantly. I even tried to find a way to manually over-ride the differences between the mailbox types, but those PowerShell options either don’t exist or are blocked.
Only proNestor uses the correct method for putting information on the board. That is to connect a delegate account and then pull the Room Calendar using the delegate’s credentials.
These are the attributes that change between a Room and User: (Room Resource Shown)
IsResource: True
ExchangeUserAccountControl: AccountDisabled
LinkedMasterAccount: NT AUTHORITYSELF
RecipientTypeDetails: RoomMailbox
AddressListMembership: {domain.comAll Rooms, etc...}
To look at your Room attributes, run this PowerShell command:
Get-Mailbox -Identity MyBigRoom@domain.com |fl
Ok, so the only way to work around this is to convert Room Resources to standard users. This has challenges of its own. By default, Regular users do not have the ability to AutoAccept meeting requests, but there is a work-around!
While the Room is still a Room Resource we need to manually set the AutomateProcessing Calendar option.
If we specify AutoAccept in PowerShell, it will stick when we convert the box over to a user.
Set-CalendarProcessing -Identity MyBigRoom@domain.com -AutomateProcessing AutoAccept
If this is a new Room Resource you may still need to set the access rights to allow everyone to book it.
Set-MailboxFolderPermission -identity MyBigRoom@domain.com:calendar -user Default -AccessRights Author
Now we are ready to covert this Room Resource to a user.
Replace “Regular” below with your chosen recipient type to change its function:
•Regular
•Room
•Equipment
•Shared
Get-Mailbox -identity MyBigRoom@domain.com | Set-Mailbox -Type Regular
Now you’re going to need to advise you users that they will be looking for a Shared Calendar and not a Room. If they have the Room linked to the left side of their Outlook 2010 or 2013 Calendar tab under Rooms, they will need to remove it and re-attach it as a Shared Calendar.
rooms
I found that these changes were live right away on the iPad and on webmail, but didn’t work until the next day for Outlook since I was using an offline address book in cached mode.
What if this doesn’t work on one of my Rooms?
One of my conference rooms was created back in Exchange 2003 and something went screwy with it when I did the conversion over to a standard user. It failed to work correctly after that, so I had to recreate it. I started by backing up the Calendar to a PST file. Then I deleted it. In order to create it again I needed to remove it from the Recycling Bin on Office 365.
This command will clear out the Recycle Bin.
Get-MsolUser -ReturnDeletedUsers | Remove-MsolUser -RemoveFromRecycleBin –Force

I’m using ADFS and DirSync, so now I have to go find some coffee and wait for the next sync after I recreate the room (This time by cloning one of my good Rooms that was already converted to a User)
After all that I was getting this error when I tried to setup AccessRights for the new Room.
This is the command that I wanted to run:
Set-MailboxFolderPermission -identity MyBigRoom@domain.com:calendar -user Default -AccessRights Author

That command returned this error:
WARNING: The command completed successfully but no permissions of calendar have been modified.
Something was hanging it up and found that if I just changed Author to PublishingAuthor, that it worked! Since they are almost the same, I left it that way, but now that it was set I could have changed it back to Author if I wanted to.
Now don’t forget to restore the PST file to this re-created Room mailbox!
For Office 365 I use the Free Exchange Migrator made by MessageOps. You will get a free license if you choose them to support your Office 365 account. I did and it has not cost me anything.
http://www.messageops.com/software/office-365-tools-and-utilities/office-365-exchange-migrator
It works better than the tools that I paid $1000 for from Quest Software.
Now on to the wall enclosure!
2013-04-23 14.25.03
After looking around, the best one seems to be the Premier Mounts IPM-720 Secure iPad Mounting Frame. I was able to find it at Adorama for $78.95. The quality is outstanding and it looks great on the wall. For one conference room I ran a 30 foot USB extension cable up inside the wall and out into the drop ceiling over to where the ceiling projector plug was.
On another conference room I ran a 6 foot USB extension cable down inside the wall and out the back of the wall where I had a network jack and over to a power outlet next to it (4” away). Remember, if you want to make this to code, you can’t have extension cords in the walls, but a USB cable should be ok.

Bitcoin Mining with CloudHashing com

Bitcoin Mining in the Cloud
Day One: On 12/4/2013 I went to www.cloudhashing.com to try out ASIC Cloud Mining.
I purchased the Silver Plan for $275.95 USD to get 4 Gigahash/s for one year.
Cloud Mining is where you buy a chunk of ASIC processing power for one year for one price and cross your fingers and hope that the cost of Bitcoin goes up enough and difficulty stays low enough for you to make a profit.

Cloud Mining Claim vs. ASIC Hardware Purchase
I wanted to test the waters without dumping in a lot of money and the best way to do that was to buy a Bitcoin Mining Claim on www.CloudHashing.com
Before I did that I looked at 3 different ways to make money with Bitcoin.

1. Buy Bitcoin and see if they go up (Speculate) Im used www.Coinbase.com to buy 0.1 BTC just so I can say that I have some Bitcoin. Total investment: $110.00 USD.

2. Buy a mining rig and see if you can mine your own Bitcoin.  I think that the days of easy mining are gone.  Its hard to say if you can make your money back by the time your $5000 mining rig shows up 4 months after you pre-order it. (The difficulty goes up while you wait)

3. Buy a mining claim on someone elses hardware.  In my case, CloudHashing.com.  The beauty in doing it this way is that CloudHashing.com manages everything for you.  I just pay my $275.95 and sit back for a year and watch.  No Pools or software to worry about.  Just give them your wallet address and they send you your Bitcoin.

My CloudHashing Estimates
So far I have been running for 9 days and Im at .02 BTC, worth around $18 USD.
Cloudhashing will re-invest 30% of my earnings in faster hardware, so the Hash rate should go up over time to offset the change in difficulty.
My Estimates:
If the 0.02 BTC / $18 is before the 30% reinvestment, then I should be earning around 0.042 BTC / $38/mo. after the 30% reinvestment.  Over the span of my one year claim, that will come out to 0.504 BTC / $453/yr if Bitcoin is selling for $900 BTC.
CloudHashing.com Estimates:
In the websites FAQ they list the return on the Platinum plan to be estimated at 18.761 BTC over 2 years.  Break that down into one year at 4Ghs and your looking at around 1.87 BTC. After the 30% reinvest that comes out to around 1.309 BTC or $1178.  Not bad if it holds true over 12 months.
Genesis Block Mining Calculator Estimates:
Using the Genesis Block Mining Calculator it seems that I will not break even over the year, but there is no way to calculate the benefit of re-investment using that tool.
They show my return to be around $86 over 12 months with no profit past month 7. Ouch!
Here is the estimate for the Silver Plan: http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/bd883a0073

Should you Cloud Mine?  Too early to tell.  Check back for updates as this all plays out!

12/4/13 Initial Investment
0.1 Bitcoin at Coinbase = $110
CloudHashing Silver Plan = $284 ($275.95 + Tax)
Total: $394.00

K’s Fruit Beverages History

K’s Fruit Beverages was a beverage company based in Los Angeles, CA that bottled and distributed soft drinks and non-carbonated beverages from 1941 until 1952.

History
Kay’s Beverages started in 1941 bottling natural fruit drinks. In 1946 Charles “Edwin” Hammond purchased Kays from the original founders and hired 4 or 5 drivers including his wife Leona and his brother-in-law Charles to deliver the drinks to stores and bars in the Los Angeles area. Kays Beverages was also sold under the name Ks Beverages. Most of what was sold under the Ks Beverages label was natural fruit juices like Pineapple Ade, Grapefruit, Tomato, Orange and Grape. Bums Root Beer and Indian Root Beer were also sold by Kay’s Beverages. Indian Root Bear had a Chief with a full war bonnet on the bottle and Bum’s root beer had a yellow bum with a cigar. Kays product line was sold off in the early 50s to the Clicquot Club Company when the Korean war caused the price of glass and sugar to go up. Ks Beverages then became Arrowhead Ks Beverages with a Red and white label instead of the traditional blue and white. The back of the original Ks Beverages bottles say "Flash Pasteurized, Free from Benzoate of Soda and other artificial preservatives. Non Carbonated. Kays Beverages Inc, Los Angeles, Calif. Min Contents 7 FL. OZs."

Charles Van Paepeghem, who was the brother in law to Charles Edwin Hammond. (Charles Edwin Hammond will be referred to as C.E. Here) recalls his time working at Ks beverage.

Charles Van Paepeghem said that when he was eighteen he would drive a truck to L.A. and the bottling plant and pick up a load and bring it back to the "Idle Hour" ranch and store it in a building we had near the orange grove. He would go with C.E some days to help him make deliveries in the Long Beach area in the late 40s. C.E owned the business outright and had a number of trucks and drivers that worked for him. Charles Van Paepeghem remembers when C.E use to come to Leta and Gus Van Paepeghems restaurant in Buena Park where he first met his furture wife, Leona Van Paepeghem. The Walter Knott family used to come to Letas restaurant every Saturday for Lunch because of her popular Chili which everyone loved. At the time the Knott’s family just had a berry stand and Leona’s sister Jesse dated one of the Knott’s brothers for a while.  The second Restaurant was located in Norwalk which included a service station and a sales yard for Gus’ dairy cows. Leona and her sister Jesse were waitresses and George and Gus were pearl drivers (dish washers). Charles remembers the time when C.E took him to Reems field in L.A. which is now LAX and took him for a airplane ride (Open cockpit) when he was very young. This had to be in the late 20s or very early 30s when C.E worked for a car dealership in downtown L.A. when he was in his 20s before he and Leona got married in 1931. C.E was 25 at the time and Leona was only 17.

Should you want to give Microsoft feedback on your testing, you can sign up at Connect, but I dont think they are taking 8.1 testers right now.

Windows Store
You will also be able to download 8.1 from the Windows App store if you already have Windows 8.  There will be a notification that will show up for Windows 8 users to upgrade.
Windows 8.1 will be a free upgrade for licensed Windows 8 users.

Warning!

You will have to wipe your hard drive when the final version of 8.1 is released, so you may want to use a test machine or backup your PC before you install the Windows 8.1 preview.  Windows Easy Transfer will allow you to backup your PC before you move to RTM, but that will not re-install your apps.

PDF file indexing stopped working under Windows 8 64Bit after installing Adobe Reader XI

iFilter PDF search stops working on Windows 8 x64

Issue
Windows 8 64 bit provides native support for the PDF iFilter, which enables indexing PDFs so that they can be searched for specific text. Installing Acrobat or Reader 11.0 breaks this feature when it overwrites the Windows 8 native iFilter registry entry with the product registry entry.

How i fixed it:
Restore the registry entry to the Windows 8 native entry as follows:

1. Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.pdfPersistentHandler. Create the key if it does not exist.

2. Verify that the value is 1AA9BF05-9A97-48c1-BA28-D9DCE795E93C. If the Acrobat or Reader install overwrote the entry with F6594A6D-D57F-4EFD-B2C3-DCD9779E382E, return it to its original value.

3.If you have any third-party PDF iFilters installed, reinstall them.

4.Restart the Windows Search service:
a.Go to Task Manager > Services.
   b.Select WSearch.
   c.Right-click, and then choose Restart.

I found this solution here: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-search-breaks-110-install.html

After I install Windows 7 operating system and its applications that I like, and I was already operate windows 7, playing in windows 7 turns my computer becomes slow. That possibly due to the specification is a standard computer. I get information about using the Windows 7 computer specifications must be high. But computers with lower specifications can also be addressed in some way. Finally, I tried to find a solution to overcome the slow Windows 7. Here is a solution to overcome the slow Windows 7:

Disable / turn off some of the visual effects features are not so necessary. The following are the steps:
- Open the windows explorer
- Next Right click on the computer.
- Then you select properties.
- Then click the advanced system settings.
- So the system properties window will appear later on the advanced tab click settings on the performance.

- The last restart the computer.

if you had done that, but the computer / laptop still slow. then immediately upgrade your device. Perhaps this your component is not to upgrade, like RAM, VGA card, and Processors

How to Check Your Graphics Card

How to Check Your Graphics Card 2

How to Check Your Graphics Card

The above questions can be found frequently in the forum question and answer forum like Yahoo Answers, Google Ask etc. By knowing the details of the components on your PC, especially VGA card certainly has a lot of advantages to you, such as: you can easily find files Update VGA Driver for hardware devices that you use.

Because of the experience, when downloading the update file for the VGA driver, which prompted course VGA details Spoken like: Model, Series, Vendors, Operating System used. In order for the file you downloaded is not for other devices. If you download a driver until the incident to another device, be sure you use the hardware will not function properly.

To know the details of your PC VGA, there are two options you can use, using the manual method or using the services of a software specially designed to detect the type of VGA installed (installed) in a PC.

How To Manual
His name also means the manual, so there should be little effort to do so. Check back box or wrap perangkaht hardware VGA (VGA Card) that you buy either the Vendor (nVidia or AMD), Sub Vendor (Asus, Gigabyte, EVGA etc) Code and the series, Im sure all the hardware devices are already listed in the box.

If the box or the packaging has been lost or depleted due eaten cat, you can see the information available on the graphics card, with a look at the code and the series of VGA card, you just try to unplug and notice the details.
using Software
This way one can only be done if the device you are using the VGA hardware is already installed in the system (drivers already installed). Software used is the GPU Z.

GPU Z is a mini tool from Techpowerup which is a software to provide complete information about the Video Card (graphics) and Procecsor APU on a computer or laptop.

GPU Z suport for all types of flat form either VGA AMD, Nvidia, and Intel, including the latest Intel Haswell Processor Graphics fed Code Name Iris.
Key Features of the GPU Z, among others:
1. Suport for AMD, Nvidia, and Intel Graphics
2. Displays VGA Display Adapter you use
3. Displaying the Default Clock and Clock Bost
4. Can be used to perform Back up Bios
5. No need to install, but there is an option if you want to put it on the Install system
6. Suport Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows 8
After the run GPU Z will feature everything you need about you use VGA as product name, Series, GPU, Memory, etc. all of which are displayed in a tab. The following image is a screenshot of the display when running GPU Z

How to Check Your Graphics Card 1

For those of you who want to and do not have a GPU Z, please follow the following link, and the file size is only 1.3 MB only.

Then if the GPU Z can only be used after the driver is installed, what if after buying VGA Card Used and we want to get a driver for the VGA card that I use but do not know for sure what the full specification of the VGA card Such?

The solution that I can give no 3, namely:
First way, if you are the user-made Assus VGA card, then on the official website there is the convenience provided to users who do not know for sure the hardware used.

Second way, users of AMD graphics cards can easily downloading drivers for all AMD products, with the help of tools designed specifically to detect, locate the driver that corresponds to the hardware, and download it directly to you.

Third way, for AMD and nVidia users who are not working anymore with the two options I mentioned earlier, please use the software detect the driver will install the drivers for all kinds of hardware very well.

Well how readers of all, I hope this article can help you in knowing the details of the VGA that you use either the PC or laptop....

log4net AdoNetAppender stops logging does not recover if database connection is lost database is down ReconnectOnError

I use the Apache log4net AdoNetAppender to log information from my application into a SQL database. In case, the network connection to the database is lost or the database is down for some reason, the AdoNetAppender quits logging (forever) to the database and does not recover even if the database is online again.

How-I-fixed-it:
I found the right hints here:
https://www.mail-archive.com/log4net-user@logging.apache.org/msg04655.html
http://logging.apache.org/log4net/release/sdk/log4net.Appender.AdoNetAppender.ReconnectOnError.html

Add the tag:

to the log4net XML config file:

Keep in mind, that it then tries to reconnect to the database until the connect times out. This blocks the thread of the application!

You can add:
Connect Timeout=1 to the connectionString  property to Limit the blocking to 1 second:

Sharepoint 2003 Backup with SSL Enabled

I configured SSL for my Sharepoint 2003 site so that I could access it from the Internet.
Read more about that here

After I set that up I found that my Sharepoint 2003 backup script was failing.
Here is the error:
The server instance specified was not found. Please specify the servers address and port.

The example I got from Microsoft included this as the path: http://localhost and that does not seem to work once you add SSL.

This is the batch file I use to backup my Sharepoint site:

@echo off
echo +++++++++++++++++
echo Backup of all sites on the SharePoint 2003 Server echo Written by Ed Hammond
echo +++++++++++++++++
c: cd Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedWeb Server Extensions60BIN stsadm.exe -o backup -url http://localhost -filename D:SharePoint_backup.dat -overwrite
echo Backup completed

Now just replace localhost with the IP address of your sharepoint server and youll be set.

VS 2012 keeps prompting to switch to AnkhSVN source control when opening a project checked out from Team Foundation Server

We moved a C# project that was formerly under SVN to TFS. After the inital checkout from TFS to a clean local Folder, Visual Studio kept prompting to switch to AnkhSVN. Even after setting source control to TFS manually in VS, the message kept being displayed on opening the project.

How-i-fixed-it:

I found the solution here (thanks to Haddicus):

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/fy98ye1k%28v=vs.90%29.aspx

How to (Really): Switch Source Control Plug-ins
Although you can do as the article suggest, you may find yourself in an infinite loop. The source control system will tell you (when you select a new source control option) that the current project uses a particular control system. If this is so, it will force close you out of the project itself. In my case, at least, the source control selection was hard coded into my primary project file, and wouldnt let me switch source control.

What youll want to do to change this is to close your solution, and open up the solution file in a text editor. Look for a global section area, this area defines the version control software. For me to change providers, all I needed to do was remove this section (everything in the GlobalSection node)... For me ( I was using Subversion with AnkhSVN), so I removed this entire block:

    GlobalSection(SubversionScc) = preSolution
        Svn-Managed = True
Manager = AnkhSVN - Subversion Support for Visual Studio
    EndGlobalSection

My Infor Visual Manufacturing Server Config

I run my Visual on a "2008" Dell 2900 with 12GB of RAM and Dual Quad cores.
Im running Server 2003 Enterprise x64.
RAID 1 for the system files on C:
RAID 1 for Visual MFG log files on d:
RAID 1 for Sharepoint log files on e:
RAID 5 for the data on f:
My database is almost 8GB now!
I run Visual, Sharepoint 3.0, and Reporting Services on this server with no problem.
I have around 50 concurrent users and 20 barcode stations.
My remote sites connect using Terminal services and thin clients over our WAN.

Update! - Make sure you have a RAID 1 for your TEMPDB databases and you need one TEMPDB file for every 4 cores you have in your CPUs. (So dual Quad Cores would need 2 TempDB files)
